Dan Gradings

Congratulations to our latest students to complete their Dan gradings back in December.

Darren Farmer, Jonny Collins, Sarah Gummer, Chloe Curley & Fiona Lake all passed their 1st Dan grading showing hard work and dedication on their journey to this achievement. Congratulations to you all you will know that we don't just give our black belts away, they have to be earned!!

AKAI RYUU AWARDS NIGHT

The Club held their awards night at Butter Bar in Bargoed in December. This was the first time since the COVID pandemic that the club have been able to organise the event which is always popular with students. It provides an opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the achievements of both individuals and the club as a whole. The night was well attended and enjoyed by all and we look forward celebrating this years achievements at the end of the year.

MALTA & GRADING PREPARATIONS

With Gradings and the World Championships in Malta just around the corner efforts are picking up in the Dojo as we prepare. It is important that all students train twice a week and if competing in Malta also attend squad training sessions. Dates are available on the board in the Dojo or speak to Sensei if you need more information.

BELGIUM WKA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS

I'm sure you will all join me in extending your congratulations to the Wales Squad who attended the WKA European Championships in Belgium during November 2023. The team were once again very successful coming back with a number of European Champions and European medalists, including our youngest competitor Arlo to our eldest in Richard Harvey. Well done to you all!!
