More Success in Poland for Team Wales

Team Wales recently sent a small squad to compete in the Polish International Open Championships held in Szczecin in May. The squad once again delivered on the international stage with our youngest competitors Elodie and Arlo both picking up medals following the lead of Sensei Callum and Sensei Tia.

Sensei Callum picked up the best male competitor award to go along with gold medals in both Senior Mens kumite and Team Rotation, silver in team kata and bronze in Mens UKF Kata. Sensei Tia picked up silver in the Womens UKF Kumite.

Tia now sits at the top of the UKF ranking for kumite whilst Callum sits in 6th place for Kata with one round remaining in Denmark before the finals back in Poland.

Dojo Refurbishment

Students and parents would have seen there has been some work ongoing around the dojo to help improve the environment for our students. With the help of Gwyn Lewis the Dojo has been refurbished and cleaned in recent weeks. Take a look at some of the photos below:

Grading Success

The club recently held gradings at the dojo for students at both Akai Ryuu and Gladiators clubs. Once again there were excellent standards on show with Tomas Richards-Green picking up most improved grading and Ivy Sweet best grading of the day. It was also pleasing to see more seniors undertaking their first grading with both Marcus Baskerville and Leigh Sweet gaining their red belts.

Lil Kickers

It has been pleasing to see our Lil Kickers class go from strength to strength. The class is aimed at younger students aged 3-5 and is a fun way to start your karate journey. If you have a child interested in starting Karate then this is the club for you. Contact Sensei Andrew for more details.
