ree

The Karate Wales Squad recently attended 3 competitions as they build their preparations towards to WUMF World Championships in Crawley this July. First up was the Slough Grand Prix on 11th June on what was a very hot day, the team performed brilliantly coming home with 16 Gold, 7 silver and 6 Bronze medals.

Largs SKA open Championship was an eventful weekend when a number of the squad were unable to attend following a motoring incidence whilst traveling up to Scotland. Sensei Callum and Sensei Tia continued the journey performing brilliantly as usual and coming back with 4 Gold, 2 silver and a bronze medal between them.

Club Grading Success

The Club their grading event on Sunday 16th July with Kuy grades where Ivy Sweet was named most improved grading and Charlie Ellis picked up Best Grading of the day awards. Well done to all who graded, Sensei Andrew commented that the standards were exceptional and is a result of the hard work and good attendance at training.

July 21st -23rd will see the club participate in the WUMF world Championships being held at the K2 arena in Crawley. The squad has prepared well through training, additional squad sessions on weekends and this has shown in recent results in competitions the squad has attended - I'm sure we all wish the squad the very best of luck for next weekend in what we are sure will be a brilliant competition.

Preparations are in place for members of the squad to attend the WKA European Championships being held in Liege, Belgium on between 1st and 4th November which will again see our students compete against some of the best in Europe.
