A small squad attended the Mediterranean Grand Prix in Sardinia in October 2022.

The Squad included Callum Lewis, Tia Lewis, Louise Lewis, Luke Hilton and Beau Timmins. Once again, the squad has punched (and kicked) way above its size coming home with 10 Gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Callum and Tia kicked off the medal haul with gold in the pairs kata and this was quickly followed up with team kata gold (Callum, Tia & Luke). Callum picked up another gold in open style kata, with Tia narrowly missing out on gold by 0.1 to pick up silver in the 18/20 open styles kata. Tia then went one better in the 15/17 years Kata winning gold before Callum and Luke rounded off an excellent morning picking up silver and bronze in Shotokan kata respectively before the competition moved on to Kumite.
Callum Luke and Beau started the afternoon as the squad did the morning by winning Gold in the team Sanbon kumite before possibly the highlight of the day seeing Mother (Lousie) and Daughter

(Tia) fighting out the final of the Womens 18+ Kumite, Tia took the spoils on this occasion but another Gold and Silver for the squad. Callum took a further two golds in Ippon 18-20 and Sanbon 76KG+.
The squad were rewarded with a couple of days on the beach recovering before later in the week training with SKC Funakoshi Tortoli- Abatrax.
We return to training at the Dojo on Monday 7th November and will continue training towards grading and preparing the squad for their next adventure to the Belgium Open later in November.
