Dear Reader,

Welcome to the first edition of our club newsletter, we plan to publish these newsletters quarterly to keep you updated with all the things going on at the club.
You will be aware that the club has continued to grow since we moved to our new home and permanent base in Fleur De Lis, and we would like to thank you as members and parents for your continued support.
Sensei Andrew.
Karate Licences

After the first 4 karate lessons, all students are required to apply for a karate licence book. The karate licence is for Martial Arts insurance and grading purposes and covers students to participate in our karate classes. It is the students/parent's responsibility to ensure that the licenses remain in date (renewed every 12 months).
Training Fees
We would like to remind students/parents that training fees are due every 4 weeks, we have a number of students on a waiting list to join the club and it is important that fees are paid on time to help ensure the smooth running of the club. Please remember that the standard fees cover the cost of training Monday and Wednesday with mainstream unlimited providing further access to Kata and Fighting Fit on Tuesday and Fight Night on Thursday. These additional classes can be paid for individually if you prefer.
Lucky 4's
We continue to run our lucky 4's draw every Wednesday and would like to thank you for your support with this. The current prize fund stands at £288, and your support has already help to raise £174 toward the club which has helped to fund this website. All the monies raised go back into the running of the club, new equipment and support for students so please get behind this great cause - who knows you could win just before Christmas - how nice would that be!!
Club Competition

The club held an in-house competition on Sunday 16th October. This provided an opportunity for some of our younger students to experience competitions for the first time. With students from the age of 5 up to 14 taking part the day was a great success for all involved and well supported. The club plans to hold another competition in December which will be open to other clubs.
Sardinia & Belgium
A small squad will be attending both the Mediterranean Grand Prix (Sardinia) and the Belgium open over the coming weeks. We wish them all the best in both competitions, and we are sure they will give they will give their all and do the club proud. Please note the club will be closed week commencing 31st October whilst the squad are in Sardinia. Information has been shared on the Facebook pages on how to make up for lessons missed during the closure.
Malta 2023

We are looking to take a larger squad to the Malta Open in March/April 2023 and Information has been shared previously. For those that have indicated an interest, deposits are now due so please see Sensei Andrew or Lousie to secure your hotel booking at a favourable rate.
Grading
Gradings are scheduled for 4th December 2023. It is important that students are training a minimum of twice a week on Mondays and Wednesday to be eligible for grading. Mock Grading will also be undertaken in coming weeks in order for Sensei to decide who is ready for this round of grading. Train hard, keep pushing and show Sensei that you are ready!!
Christmas Party/Awards Night
We are looking at holding a Christmas Party/Awards Night in December. We feel it is important that we celebrate our success as a club with an opportunity to bring everyone together in a different environment. We are making some enquiries regarding a venue and more information will be shared soon on our Facebook pages.
Thank you all again for your continued support
Sensei Andrew
